Camellia Birthday card

Hello everyone!
Today I have an almost one layer card to share with you. I was inspired by the inspiration picture and the beautiful inspiration card that Therese shared for Altenew July Inspiration Challenge

I stamped the third layer of the camellia flower and leaves from Build-A-Flower Camellia set by Altenew on the diagonal corners of a A2 sized white cardstock. I used Memento Angel Pink and New Sprout for no-line coloring using alcohol markers. I then colored the image using Altenew Artist Markers set A and a Copic marker (Blush). I made a coloring process video again :). You can watch it below or on my YouTube Channel

I then stamped the happy from Halftone Happy in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed it. The birthday was stamped in Evening Gray. I trimmed the colored panel, rounded two diagonal corners and foam mounted it onto a dark gray card base. To finish off I added some clear and iridescent sequins.

And here is my video! I left some parts in real time! Hope this helps, Pat :) !!! I'm coloring very slow... so it could be a little bit boring :)! The colors in my video are slightly muted as I can make the video only at night these days (It's Summer break... you know what I mean :)).

I want to enter this card into Stamp Ink Paper (SIP) Challenge #108: Fabulous Florals and Addicted to Stamps and More #251: Anything Goes as well!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

Seize the Birthday - Splatter

Hello everyone!

It's Seize the Birthday Thursday again! The new Toppings option for next fortnight is SPLATTER!

I used a negative die cut panel from my stash. I needed white greenery die cuts for my previous cards and this negative panel has been sitting since then.
The greenery die is from Petal Cut Peonies Standalone dies by The Ton.

I made a watercolor panel only by splattering Gansai Tambi watercolors. I used sieve and old toothbrush for the fine splatters, and made the bigger droplets by tapping the brush. After the ombre green splatter panel was dry I added gold splatters using Finetec gold watercolor. I then foam mounted the front panel. The sentiment is from Penned Sentiments. I gold heat embossed it on a strip of black cardstock with a mat in gold which was made by adhering some Adhesive Foil paper gold on some white cardstock. To finish off I added some black and gold enamel dots. I was thinking about adding some blending on the upper edge of the panel but decided to leave it as it is :).

I'm glad I could use this negative die cut panel from my stash! I think it turned out pretty :)

Now its your turn to play along! Please stop by Seize the Birthday blog for more inspirations from my team mates and our Surprise Party Guest Lindsey from Bashful Blogging!

Black Magic - White Anemone

Hello, everyone!

Today I have a card to share with you. This was made with the collaboration challenge of Less is More #336 337 and AAA cards #94 in mind. The theme for this special challenge is ONE LAYER CARD ON COLORED CARDBASE.

I colored a white anemone on black using black magic technique : In this technique you stamp or color the image in white on dark surface and color them using colored pencils.

I stamped the base layer of an anemone flower and leaves from Fresh Cut Anemones by The Ton in Hampton white pigment ink on black cardstock. I stamped it just before I went to bed, so that it could dry overnight.
On next day I colored the image using Prismacolor pencils. I drew the stem by hand with a white pencil. I've filmed while I was coloring. You can watch my first process video here below or on my YouTube channel :)! It's only the pencil coloring part. Hope I could make a start to finish video some day :)!

After done with pencil coloring I added the stamen using black and purple glaze pens. To brighten the image I colored the outer edge area of the petals with a white gel pen. I smudged the white gel ink with my finger before it dried, so the strokes could blend. The white heat embossed sentiment is from Summer Blooms stamp set by The Ton. To finish off I splattered opaque white watercolor on the panel after covering the image and the sentiment.

Here is my video :)! Hope you like it!

Guest Designing at The Foiled Fox #1

Hello everyone!

Today I have a special post. The ladies from The Foiled Fox invited me to be a guest on their blog and of course I said yes :)! The Foiled Fox is a one stop shop for crafting, calligraphy and other art projects. I feel so honored to be a guest at The Foiled Fox blog today :)!

For today's card I played again with my alcohol inks!

To start off I made a alcohol ink background panel. I sprayed rubbing alcohol on a glossy cardstock first and added the alcohol inks by dripping and blew the colors through a straw. The colors I used are Flamingo, Shell Pink, Limeade, Citrus, Patina, Aqua and Snow Cap. I then gold heat embossed the Full of Glee image on it and colored the flowers using Holbein Artists Gouache. I cut out the bottom part of the panel in an angle. The sentiment is from Extra Special stamp set by Altenew. I stamped it in StazOn black on a strip of glossy cardstock on which I colored with Shell Pink. I adhered it under the bottom edge of the colored panel. I gold heat embossed the Wavy Lines background stamp on my dark gray card base and foam mounted the front panel onto it. To finish off I added some sequins.

That's it for today! Hope you liked my card!  Please don't forget to stop by The Foiled Fox blog for more inspirations!

The Flower Challenge #10 - Embossing Reminder

Hello all!

We arrived the midway point of The Flower Challenge #10! And It's time for a reminder card!

One of the things that I can do with a flower stamp and heat embossing is alcohol ink coloring :)! The Ton has five big peony stamps with relatively big petals. It is an ideal condition for some alcohol ink coloring!!! This stamp is called Large Peony 5.

I gold heat embossed the peony and the leaves (one from Large Peony 4 as well) on glossy cardstock and started to color them by dripping the alcohol inks on the image. I used Wild Plum, Raspberry, Flamingo and Shell pink for the peony flower and Patina, Limeade and Botanical for the leaves. I die cut them all with coordinating dies and set them aside to make the background panel.

The background panel was created using a technique I've learned from our team mate Karen. She can make the most fabulous backgrounds. And this is one of the techniques she shares on her blog : swiping the colors using a credit card.
I rubbed oxide inks (Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick, Broken China and Iced Spruce) on a acetate sheet, spritzed with clear water, dipped the edge of an old credit card into the ink and dragged it across the white panel. I then applied some gold watercolor on the edge of the credit card and made the golden lines onto the panel. I then cut out the rectangle frame using Double Stitched Rectangle dies from the panel and blended Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet on the frame to make it little bit darker. The frame was foam mounted and the rest of the panel was glued flat on the card base. I then arranged the peony flower and leaves and mounted them. The sentiment from Penned Sentiments in Noir was stamped on the banner from Basic Banners set which was gold heat embossed and cut using coordinating die. I blended a little bit of Worn Lipstick on the banner and added gray shade using Copic C1,3,5, and then foam mounted the banner onto the card. Some clear Dew Drops were my finishing touch!

I was surprised how easy to achieve this gorgeous effect on the background! Big thanks to Karen :)!!!

Thank you so much for looking my card today! Hope I could inspire you to play along at The Flower Challenge! Please stop by The Flower Challenge blog to see the creations by my amazing and lovely team mates!!!

Seize the Birthday - Red, White and YOU

Hello and happy Thursday!

Two weeks fly by like wind :)! It is already time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!
The Toppings option for next fortnight is Red, White and YOU(color of your choice)!

The color of my choice is blue and I made a patriotic birthday shaker card.

I started off by making a cutting file for a star with comet tail and cut it from a white card stock with my Cricut. For the background I colored a watercolor panel using Gansai Tambi watercolor in blue for the star and in red for the comet tail. I splattered blue and red watercolor on the front panel and stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts in Parisian Blue and True Navy. I adhered a clear acetate to the shaker window and assembled the shaker card by adding some blue and red star sequins as my shaker elements. I chose a red card base for my card and finished it off by adding a red star sequin.

That's it from my side. Now it's your turn! Choose one color and add to white and red to create your project! Looking forward to seeing your work in the gallery!

You are Awesome!

Hello! It's me again :)!

The sketch of CAS(E) this Sketch #228 for this week has been floating in my head since it was posted at CTS. And the wavy line in the sketch reminds me only of a road or trail. The Stoked stamp set from Avery Elle is in my stash for a while and this sketch is the perfect one for me to ink up this cool boy!

I stamped the boy on the skate board in Memento black and colored him with Copic markers. I cut it with ScanNcut and set it aside. The panel with the wavy line was created by blending Wilted Violet and Iced Spruce Distress Oxide inks after masking off the white part. I splattered clear water. I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black pigment ink and clear heat embossed it. The boy was foam mounted. To finish off I added Shimmer Pico Embellisher on his goggle.

My daughter Yerin wanted to make a card just like mine. So I had to stamp the boys for her and she colored them using Crayola markers. She preferred fussy cutting to cutting machine, so she cut the boys with her scissors. She blended the background and then..... fell asleep... :).
I must say, in fussy cutting she is way better than me :).

This is the fun sketch that Chrissy created!

Thank you so much for looking!
Enjoy your day!

The Flower Challenge #10 - Embossing

Hello everyone!

Today I want to share my DT card for the new challenge at The Flower Challenge with you!!!
Our theme for July is Embossing, heat or dry!!! My son would say, easy peasy lemon squeezy, right :)?

I gold heat embossed my image and background!

This Anemone cluster is from The Ton and is called Anemone Wishes. I gold heat embossed it on a Canson Bristol paper and colored it using Koi watercolor. I then partially die cut it with coordinating die only the upper edge. I gold heat embossed the Minor Stripes on my card base and blended some DIs in yellow and pink on the area surrounding the Anemone cluster. The sentiment is from Penned Sentiments. I made a strip in pink using watercolor for gold heat embossed "Sending" and foam mounted it and stamped the other sentiment in Noir on the front panel. The front panel was popped up with some foam adhesives. I scattered some sequins from Guava Sparkle and Belle's Dress Couture Mix to finish off the card.

I'm sure you have some pretty floral stamps in your stash, which would look good in heat embossing! Have some relaxing coloring time and link the project up at The Flower Challenge!

Looking forward to seeing your work in the gallery!

The Ton July Challenge - Mood Board

Hello everyone!!!
It is hard to believe that the half of 2017 has already passed.
We are in July and it means a new challenge at The Ton Challenge blog has started!!!

For this month Effie arranged a mood board to inspire you.

The pictures are so pretty, beautiful and inspiring!!! Several ideas came in my mind and I chose the one inspired by the picture on the right bottom corner; box of macarons surrounded by beautiful flowers.

And this is what I came up with.

First I cut the front panel from a watercolor paper using my cutting machine, an A2 sized panel with a rectangle window in the middle. The rectangle window was sized to make a macaron box, in which 4 small macarons from our Macarons set fit. I then white heat embossed the Peony Terrace on the front panel and watercolored it in pink, yellow and green using Gansai Tambi Pearl colors. I added a bit of Color burst powders to intensify the colors. While I was painting, I tried to represent the flower cluster on the picture. The macarons were stamped and die cut using coordinating die. The colors I used are: for light yellow macaron; Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Lemon Drop, Amber Citrine/ for yellow macaron; Lemon Drop, Amber Citrine, Coraline Hybrid/ for pink macaron; Rose Quartz, Hollywood Star, Cosmopolitan Pink Hybrid/ for purple macaron: Soft Amethyst, Plum Wine, Iris Blooms

I glued the macarons on the gray card base and added some sequins of Glass Slippers round confetti on it. I added a thin shimmer frame on the rectangle window of the front panel,  adhered a clear acetate sheet to the window and rounded the bottom corners of the panel before I foam mounted it on the card base. The sentiment is from Sweet Macarons set, which I stamped in Noir. To finish off I added two more sequins from Glass Slippers round confetti on the front panel. The backdrop of my picture is Bokeh Glow backdrop board.

I hope I was able to inspire you! If you have some of The Ton's stamps or dies, play along!!! One winner will get $50 gift certificate to The Ton online shop!
Please stop by The Ton Challenge blog for more inspirations and for details of our challenge!
